Acts of Liberty

It is the summer of 1788, a desperate time for the United States of America.

Soaring debt and an ineffective Confederation Congress have left the nation teetering on edge of insolvency and vulnerable to corruption. As Federalists in New Hampshire rush to ratify the ninth pillar of the Constitution, a secret judicial syndicate called the Council pushes back to claim a different future.

Who will bear witness for the new American aristocracy?

Suborned with seized property and paid in foreign coin, Council ranks have swelled to include bitter Loyalists and desperate profiteers eager to turn in their neighbors for wealth. Suspicion is everywhere. Anyone who defies the strict Council decrees, fails to pay their taxes, or promulgates the subversive new democracy will be detained for questioning by this rogue authority.

How far will you go to secure the blessings of liberty?

Acts of Liberty is a story roleplaying game for 2-4 players that takes place in an alternate history. Over the course of four acts, each player assumes the dual role of both suspect and witness as they take turns revealing evidence and building testimonies in an interactive environment.

The players are characters caught in the crossfire of a democratic movement and an existential threat that seeks to undermine the promise of freedom during the waning days of a pre-Constitutional America.

Depending on the number of players, game sessions can grow to showcase story elements that interconnect in a myriad of entertaining ways. Powered by Prototype System, the game provides the rules and the world blueprint charts used to create custom dramas. All you need is a deck of playing cards and a few tokens.

Acts of Liberty is available for purchase on Amazon.
